Harpsichord & Basso Continuo
Music Theory & History
Teaching method for harp: I use a combination of reading music notation and playing by ear. A variety of musical styles, from Celtic/folk, to some classical for those interested.
Teaching method for piano: I follow the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Toronto) curriculum. This well balanced method includes technique (i.e. scales, triads), sight-reading, and ear-training, in addition
to musical repertoire.
With any instrument, I believe in adapting to the students’ needs and abilities,
while pushing them to reach their maximum potential.

I have two sons who had lost interest in pursuing their piano lessons. With Susan's exceptional patience, talent, and dedication, my sons have re-discovered this beautiful instrument. She was attentive to their needs and selected pieces to amuse and inspire their senses, all the while teaching them new skills and setting new objectives. She set realistic and attainable goals for each child. ~ T. Kia
